About New Energy Argentina

Driving Argentina’s green energy future through hydrogen, ammonia, and wind projects

CLEAN INNOVATION

Powering Argentina’s Green Future

New Energy Argentina is a local renewable energy and green hydrogen developer with strong international backing. Formerly known as RP Global Argentina, we have been active in the country since 2017, developing wind, solar energy projects, and green hydrogen and green ammonia projects. Today, New Energy Argentina is focused on the development of green hydrogen and green ammonia projects, while continuing to advance our wind and solar (PV) initiatives across the country. Our flagship project, Gaucho Wind to Hydrogen & Green Ammonia, positions us at the forefront of Argentina’s role in the global energy transition.

2023

Santa Cruz Projects

In 2023 we started focusing on the development of green hydrogen (H2) and green ammonia projects - which entails the development of wind energy projects - in the province of Santa Cruz.

2024

Partnership with GIZ

In 2024 we partnered up with the German state development agency GIZ under the framework of the Hydrogen Ramp Up Programme (H2UPP) to promote and support the development of green hydrogen in Argentina.

2025

Moving Forward

In 2025, as part of a strategic restructuring following a transaction between RP Global and the sustainable investment fund Mirova, our local operations adopted a new identity: New Energy Argentina. This rebranding was due to an international transaction, in which sustainable investment fund Mirova became a minority shareholder of RP Global. However, both RP Global and New Energy Argentina remain subsidiaries of the same entity, the Austrian investment company RPG Capital and retain close ties.

Wind Energy

Developing large-scale wind projects that power Argentina’s renewable future and enable the production of green hydrogen at scale

Green Hydrogen

Focused on clean H₂ and green ammonia solutions that support both local demand and international energy transition goals.

Global Partnerships

Collaborating with GIZ through the H2Uppp programme to bring world-class expertise, technical standards, and regulatory support to Argentina.

Sustainability Legacy

Connected to RP Global and RPG Capital, drawing on decades of renewable energy experience and long-term sustainable investment backing.

SHAPING THE FUTURE

General Manager Juan Pedro leads the company’s strategic direction and oversees the development of New Energy Argentina’s green hydrogen and renewable energy portfolio. He brings extensive experience in project development and stakeholder engagement, and is committed to positioning Argentina as a key player in the global energy transition.

STRONG ALLIANCES

Partners in Progress

GIZ

New Energy Argentina is engaged in a partnership with the German state development agency GIZ within the framework of the H2Uppp programme of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action (BMWK). Jointly we are currently promoting the ambitious ‘Gaucho Wind to Hydrogen & Green Ammonia’ project in the province of Santa Cruz aimed at production of green ammonia and decarbonising chemical, agricultural, transportation and other hard to abate sectors. The partnership includes technical, environmental and regulatory studies, as well as capacity building, training and institutional strengthening activities, with the aim of positioning Argentina as a key player in the global green hydrogen market. This international collaboration not only boosts the energy transition, but also generates local economic benefits through job creation, infrastructure development and technology transfer. The results of the studies will be disclosed to the public, thus can benefit to development of similar projects in the region and benefit the concept of shared infrastructure

RP Global

RP Global is part of the same subsidiary as New Energy Argentina and until 2025, the companies were one and the same entity. New Energy Argentina benefits from RP Global’s international expertise drawn from 40 years in the renewable energy industry and is supported by specific members of RP Global’s team, such as its CTO, Igor Rescec, and its Green Hydrogen Expert, Khrystyna Kasyanova.
